Helen Neal is an executive coach and HR and development consultant. She has twenty years experience which has included various roles in commercial divisions of the motor industry such as sales, R&D, manufacturing and distribution. For the past twelve years she has worked as an HR Director in professional practice where she was responsible for operational matters and finally for career development. She has worked on a one to one basis with senior managers and partners both on the development of management skills as well as their longer term career development.

 

Following an initial career as an Orthoptist, Helen graduated with the Open University and followed this by gaining an MSc in Personnel Management. Her first role was as a Training Officer in R&D with Lucas. She has been involved in a number of high profile projects ranging from setting up an HR department and appointing 100 new staff in a start up situation to the development of a range of career interventions in order to identify high performers and offer appropriate development to all.

 

Helen is a highly professional and commercially aware Human Resources specialist and the key skills that she has developed over a successful career include strategic planning, relationship management, problem solving, project management and counselling. Her communication and presentation skills are excellent and she is regarded as someone who can initiate and develop ideas, challenge the status quo and make things happen.

 

She has developed a style of directness and fairness based on an exceptionally sound set of professional skills and experience that have enabled her to influence senior management and gain their respect in a variety of challenging environments. Helen is qualified to Level B with the British Psychological Society and uses a wide range of psychometric tools and coaching techniques.

 

Helen has a wide range of interests that include walking, watching and participating in sport as well music, theatre, opera and the arts.
