Coaching consists of one-to-one sessions with an individual as a means of developing a particular skill, resolving a specific issue or in preparation for a significant change in role or responsibilities. The number of sessions will be dependent on individual need and the requirement for further feedback and discussion.
The coaching sessions would be facilitated by an experienced coach who has a proven track record of working with and developing senior management in a variety of commercial organisations.
The sessions will typically consider the following areas:
| • | An explanation and clarification of the issue (with specific examples and feedback from colleagues) |
| • | Recognition and ownership of the issue |
| • | The desired outcome and any links to longer term objectives |
| • | A review of how the outcome might be achieved |
| • | The blocks to achieving the outcome and how they might be overcome |
| • | The strengths of the individual (with specific examples) |
| • | Agreement of action plan at the end of each session and review of actions at the start of the next session |
The coach will use or refer to psychometric tools where appropriate to assist in the process.
